Adjustable Children’s Bookshelf

This is a great example of function and form. The simple, elegant shelf packs a ton of functionality into the design. The main verticals are threaded rod, with flange nuts at each shelf level. That makes the middle shelves infinitely adjustable and also allows for disassembly and moving. Swiveling leveling feet adapt to uneven floors and prevent sliding. The top shelf has a dual-anchored, anti-tip mechanism in the back. It’s invisible from the front, but strong enough to protect adventurous kids and pets. The astute observer will notice a number of copies of the same books. The client was a children’s book editor in Boulder, who needed space for their daughter’s books, as well as some of her own to share with friends.
